About this site

This tutorial was originally composed in 1995 to introduce the basics of Matlab to engineering and physics students. Since then many changes have been made to reflect Matlab's perpetual evolution. This tutorial has been written for new users of Matlab and as a supplemental material to my lectures in control systems and other courses applying Matlab. The current version is valid for Matlab Release 2008a and Simulink 7.

This site works best with Firefox 1.x+ (or later), Mozilla 1.7.x+, and Opera 7+ browsers. There are known technical issues with the following browsers:

  • MS Internet Explorer (all versions): text and tables may not display correctly.
  • AOL browser (all versions): known issues with Javascripts.
  • Safari (all versions): menu feature does not work.
